Initial Session
Our initial session together at Counselling in Nottingham will involve an assessment of your current
situation and your needs. This is so we can both decide if we would be comfortable working with each other
and that we both felt I would be able to help with your current issues. Sometimes it may be appropriate to
refer clients to more specialised services or I may simply remind you of someone that has caused some
issues for you. It is important that these things are considered and discussed as they may have an adverse
affect on your sessions and therapeutic outcome.
Fees
At Counselling in Nottingham I charge £50 pounds for a 50 minute session of Counselling/Psychotherapy in
Gedling, and £55 in Nottingham City Centre. My fees are assessed annually and any increase in fees will be
notified to you and discussed with you in advance. Fees are usually paid at the time of your session unless
otherwise agreed.
NB: Limited concessionary rates available on request for Psychotherapy/Counselling students
Supervision Fees
I currently charge £50 per hour for Individual Supervision. There are consesionary rates available for those in
relevent Counselling/Psychotherapy training.
Locations
I work in private practice from Gedling and Nottingham City centre. Both locations offer privacy and
suitable rooms with which to work in safely.
Payment Methods
Methods of payment accepted are either pounds sterling, personal cheques or bank account transfers. Bank
transfers should be made two days before the session you are paying for so as to avoid any confusion.
Cancellations
Cancellations should be made 48 hours prior to the scheduled session. This is so that I can allocate the time
to another client if I need to. Cancellations made after this time will still need to be charged for as I will be
unable to allocate the time to another client at such short notice.
Holidays
I do not expect clients to pay for missed sessions when they are on holiday as long as prior notice is given of
the intended missed sessions.
Missed Sessions / Breaks
If a session is missed without prior notice given, then the session will still be charged for. I will contact you
and invite you to attend the next session as usual. If after two missed sessions there is still no contact then
I will presume that you no longer wish to continue with your sessions, and the time will be allocated to
another client. I will also offer you an ending session after this. Ending sessons are very important and can
help cement whatever work/awareness you have achieved in our sessions together, and offer a different
experience to other endings you may have had in the past.
